The Arapahoe Library District (ALD) Board of Trustees recently voted to remove the limits of materials checked out and held for residents of Aurora who do not pay taxes to ALD. Therefore, those Aurora patrons who were affected will be restored to full library service at all ALD branch libraries effective immediately.
“It is common practice for ALD to reexamine policies, procedures and practices to ensure that they continue to make sense and support the Library District’s strategic direction,” said ALD Executive Director Nicolle Davies. “ALD’s participation in the Colorado Library Card program, which allows library card holders throughout the state to use all participating libraries, as well as ALD’s mission to promote literacy throughout the community, are the main reasons for reversing the limitations.”
