Website changes
I'm unhappy with the change made to the reviews that are provided with the book listing. Before the website change, one clicked on the book's picture and reviews by Booklist, Publisher's Weekly or other reliable sources were shown. Now the only reviews are the ones provided by other readers. I don't care about opinions of unknown readers; they're not reliable sources. In addition, obviously not every book is reviewed. I'm not sure why the change was made (I suspect to save some money) but it's not a good one.
One other comment has to do with Prospector. After the change, I have to pick the library where the book should come from (when there's numerous libraries). I think the system should pick the source, not the patron. How is one to know which library will be able to send first?

I don't not like the change tothe listing of Kindle books. Please put them in alphabetical order. It's impossible to fine anything the way it is.

Hi Sharon, Are you referring to the Overdrive site, http://digital.arapahoelibraries.org? If so, the Sort By field in the upper left-hand corner will let you put them in alphabetical order. Let us know if you need more info. Thanks!
hold pick up notice
I am puzzled as to why the library finds it necessary to send me to two hold pick up notices back to back for the same item. The notices just 5 minutes apart. Is this a glitch in the system? If not, It's silly and annoying especially when I have a several items coming in the same day. What would be more useful is to have the second notice delivered 5 days later so I don't forget to come in and pick up the item.

I emailed a comment several weeks ago and am still waiting for a response. I checked the response box "yes", but never received one. My comment dealt with my personal information appearing on my library account, when I bring it up on a computer. I don't like my personal information showing, especially if I'm on a public computer, like at the library. Someone could look over my shoulder and see my name, etc. I'd appreciate a response about this, especially if you can't change how much personal information shows on the screen. Thank you, J. We are doing additional user experience studies on the new website and new catalog and will make changes based on user feedback. I'll make sure that your comments on having your name displayed are added to our data. Just curious, would you be okay with just your first name displaying?
Last week we enabled the request button from the title level page. Hope that helps you with placing holds.

At Castlewood on several occasions, I've noticed no one is at the front information desk to help patrons. Even if I don't want help, I notice how often patrons have to wait for extended periods of time to get help. Have your policy changed about keeping a PSS at the front desk? Also, when a patron can't check out an item, and the checkout machine beeps at them, which is a very noticeable sound, no one approaches the patron to resolve the problem. I've actually seem patrons ignore the fact that they haven't checked out an item and walk out with it. It might reduce missing items, if a staff member noticed the situation, stepped in, and helped the patron. PLEASE RESPOND TO MY COMMENT!! Thank you

I sent an email earlier today about poor costumer service and how when a patron can't check out an item, and the checkout machine beeps at them, which is a very noticeable sound, but no one approaches the patron to resolve the problem. Today I actually watched a patron walk out of the library without checking out an item, because the checkout machine wouldn't let her, and no one noticed to help her. I mentioned this to a PSS, who wasn't concerned at all. She told me the person would probably return the item, but what about the reason the patron couldn't check it out? Was it promised to someone else? No wonder our library system loses so many items a year. I love the library, but I'm very concerned about certain practices now in place. Again, PLEASE RESPOND. Thank you again.

In case you are looking for comments on the latest website, I can give you mine. This newest version has more functions, but it has a real learning curve this time. One has to know where to go to eventually find the needed function. But it is not intuitive. There are times where one comes to a complete stop because no links appear to where one wants to go. Jut one example --- one must know that after adding to the cart, one must then go to View Cart and select request chart times from there.
It's almost like one needs a seminar at the library to learn the program. There is a trade off between user-friendly vs does-everything-if-one can remember where the function lies on the tree. I think user friendly is gone, so that's my two cents. Thanks fro listening. As I am writing this, I just found another small item. When providing WORD VERIFICATION, the two options are SAVE and PREVIEW. Is SAVE what could be better-named as SEND? I guess I will use SAVE.
