Arapahoe Libraries strives to create collaborative spaces in our libraries that include meeting rooms, coffee shops, small theater space, makerspace and audiovisual studios. We have quiet zones and “non-shush” zones.
We have happy spaces called “literacy playgrounds,” with child-sized furniture shaped like logs and mushrooms, miniature puppet theaters and other interactive toys for children to create stories while practicing “read, write, talk, sing and play” skills. We also have study rooms perfect for tutoring or if you need a quiet place to study for exams.
Libraries are being transformed into contemporary yet distinctive places to help you rediscover the joy of coming to the local library. In other words, nowadays, when you say you are heading to the library, you actually mean it.
