App Review: Go Away, Big Green Monster

Ed Emberley's classic monster book has been adapted to the tablet screen!

Children can pick from 4 different story modes: read along with a friend, read along with Ed Emberley, sing along or read myself. Easy to use controls allow children to page through the story with their own fingers. There's even an extra mini game at the end that will help build your child's finger strength as they use the flashlight to look for monsters.

If you're in the market for a story that will put you and your child in a spooky mood, you can't do better than this. Go Away, Big Green Monster is on the Apple Store for $.99 and on Google Play for $1.99.

*Remember, as with all media, it's best if you and your child play together. The American Pediatrics Association recommends that children ages 2 to 5 have a trusted adult to relate what they're seeing to the world around them. They also suggest that screen time be limited to one hour a day for this age group. For more information, take a look at their recommendations for media usage.
