App Review: Story Dice

Show of hands, who loves waiting? I bet your child does, too. No?! Well, neither do I if I'm totally honest.

If you're scrambling for ideas to keep your children occupied during long waits, you'll love this. You'll be building their storytelling and sequencing skills while you wait with Yumi Story Dice for Kids app.

Once you open the app, you'll see the dice ready for storytelling. Shake your device and let them roll! Tap each die to see what objects you'll be using in the story. Rearrange them however you'd like and get telling! You can even record your stories and share with friends and family.

BUT Android users, don't fear! There are alternatives! Try Rory's Story Cubes for the same experience. Story cubes are physical dice sets you can purchase, or you can get them all on the app (no lost dice under tables!).

You can find Rory's Story Cubes on Android and Apple for $1.99.

*Remember, as with all media, it's best if you and your child play together. The American Pediatrics Association recommends that children ages 2 to 5 have a trusted adult to relate what they're seeing to the world around them. They also suggest that screen time be limited to one hour a day for this age group. For more information, take a look at their recommendations for media usage.
