National Bookmobile Day!

Did you know that some libraries have wheels? Yes, wheels! Arapahoe Libraries has a Library on Wheels that brings library checkout materials, storytimes, crafts, tech demos and assistive devices to folks all over our district.

The bookmobile and van make scheduled stops at apartment complexes and assisted living centers throughout our service area. The bookmobile also turns out for special events at schools and local festivals and even the occasional parade!

All bookmobile stops are open to the public and we would love to see you! Check out this map to see the scheduled stops, opens a new window.

Home delivery service can bring the library right to your door.

Did you also know there are bookmobiles all over the world, opens a new window in all shapes and sizes? In addition to being a bus or a car, a bookmobile can be an airplane, train, wagon, donkey, opens a new window, horse, camel or an elephant. Basically, if you've got wings, wheels or legs, you can be a bookmobile!

People can always use the library, but that doesn't always mean a library is right there. The distances people are willing to travel to access library materials and services speak to the power of language, information and human curiosity. The Mobile Library Services team at Arapahoe Libraries is proud and honored to contribute to the bookmobile tradition. Come visit and help us celebrate not only the work we get to do and the people we get to meet, but bookmobile service providers worldwide!
