Assistive Devices for Check Out

Did you know the library has assistive devices for you to check out and take home?! Arapahoe Libraries has many devices to help you keep reading, listening to books or to help with day-to-day tasks.

These items are available for check out:

  • book stand - Very sturdy. These are great for holding open heavy books.

Multiple types of magnifiers to fit your needs and preferences:

  • Neck Magnifier - Magnification is 2.5X, with a tiny area near bottom of lens that enlarges by 4X and has LED light.
  • Portable electronic video magnifier - Great for bringing reading documents and medication labels
  • Large LED Reading magnifier - Lens dimensions: 4 1/8" X 2 1/2 with 3X magnification. Readers can use it to see the whole page of a book with a single glance.
  • Color mouse - Hooks up to a Windows computer and projects what you're reading on to the computer screen (does not work on Mac computers).
  • Mono mouse - Hooks up to a TV and projects what you're reading on to the television screen.

Speakers and CD players:

  • Bluetooth speaker - Connect via Bluetooth or a line-in cable (comes with the speaker).
  • CD player with radio - CD player with AM/FM radio. It also has an 3.5mm AUX audio input option for connecting mobile devices.
