Celebrate the holidays!

December is a holiday month – so many things to celebrate and traditions to learn about.  Holidays like; Christmas, Hanukkah (also often spelled Chanukah), Kwanzaa and Winter Solstice.

World Book Online Reference Center and The New Book of Knowledge are great encyclopedias to use to get a general overview of what these holidays celebrate

In CultureGrams World Edition you can pick a country and find out what holidays are celebrated there.  In addition you can use the drop down menu to go move between the World, State, and Provinces editions to find interesting recipes to try out.  Maybe your holiday meal can take on regional or international flavors!

If you want to read or listen to holiday stories there are many titles in electronic format to pick from.  For kids there are stories in Tumblebooks and BookFlix.  OverDrive has holiday themed eBooks and eAudiobooks for all ages. OneClickdigtial has Christmas themed eAudiobooks and InstantFlix has holiday movies to stream. Hoopla has holiday music, movies, eBooks and eAudiobooks.

So much to learn, read and listen too in just one month!
