App Review: Little Chickies from Canticos

Want a free and educational app for your children? Want it to be advertisement free? Does that even exist?

Believe it or not, you can have both in one app with Canticos' Little Chickies/Los Pollitosopens a new window!

Help the three chickies break out of their eggs to get started with the minigames. Tap the radio to choose a language for the chickies to sing in. Choose between Spanish, English, French, Italian and more!

Children can strum on a guitar, build a musical flower garden and design their own Little Chickies egg. If they're especially proud of their creations, save them to the gallery and send them to relatives.

Little Chickies is available on Appleopens a new window and Androidopens a new window devices for free. There are no ads and no in-app purchases.

If you love Chickies, try out Canticos' many other quality apps, also for free. Their goal is to share Latinx culture through Spanish-language nursery rhymes.

*Remember, as with all media, it's best if you and your child play together. The American Pediatrics Association recommends that children ages 2 to 5 have a trusted adult to relate what they're seeing to the world around them. They also suggest screen time be limited to one hour a day for this age group. For more information, take a look at their recommendations for media usageopens a new window.
