Scavenger Hunt #1

Let’s join Erin, opens a new window on a scavenger hunt!

Talking with children helps build their vocabularies. Children with large vocabularies have an easier time when they begin to learn to read, since it is easier for them to make sense of the words they are sounding out.

You can do this game inside, outside or both. Together, find the following pairs. Once you find a pair, have fun talking about them. How are they the same? How are they different? Are they the same color? Is one bigger than the other? Do you like one more than the other? Why?

  • Two trees

  • Two flowers

  • Two insects

  • Two crayons

  • Two stuffed animals

  • Two round objects
