Tech Tips – November

Arapahoe Libraries offers programs and resources to meet your needs in the ever-changing world of technology.

Tech specialists are friendly technology experts who want to help you with anything you can dream up. This is what we're up to this month!

“I’d like to learn more about 3D printing!"

From Tech Specialist Carrie:

“Most definitely! We offer many levels of engagement with 3D printing. We have free prints available at each technology specialist desk in the library, we offer free custom printing services at the library (just email us your .stl file) and we offer certification for independent use of our 3D printers at the Castlewood Makerspace! If you’re interested, drop us a line!"

This month in the Makerspace, we made custom luggage tags with the laser cutter! These will ensure your suitcases are personalized in style and always make it home.

Does your business or hobby need a website? Maybe your current page could use a little work? We have talented WordPress designers on staff who can help you get started or troubleshoot an existing site! Just send in an appointment request.

Have a program you love on your Windows computer, but there’s no version of the software for macOS? No need to worry! The site AlternativeTo crowdsources software recommendations to replicate the same uses but on a different operating system.

Our most popular digital service, Overdrive, has launched a new app called Libby! We’ve found it to be much more user-friendly to start, and it does a great job of remembering your library card so you can avoid entering in those digits every time you check out a book. Just search “Libby” in the App Store or in Google Play.
