Tech Tips – September

Arapahoe Libraries offers programs and resources to meet your needs in the ever-changing world of technology.

Tech specialists are friendly technology experts who want to help you with anything you can dream up. This is what we're up to this month!

"My employer sent me a PDF that needs my information and I can’t edit it! Help!"

From Tech Specialist George:

Try converting it to a Word document using Free Online OCR. When you sign up, you can convert multi-page PDF documents to Word documents.

Is the majority of your wardrobe neon? Are you still holding onto your Lisa Frank folders from your school days? Then you’ll love this neon dog created using the embroidery machine in the Castlewood Makerspace. Come in and make your reality technicolor!

Music buffs: Get the 411 on music sampling by setting up an appointment with a Tech Specialist! We can show you how to edit, loop and sequence samples using a DAW (digital audio workstation). Voilá: You'll be creating your own tunes and instrumentals before you know it.

Looking to get into the Linux operating system but not sure where to start? Try Linux Mint. It's simple to use and will be very familiar to you if you are a Windows user.

Do you have upcoming travel plans? Maybe you just want to do some web surfing in the park? Check out one of our 4G LTE Wi-FI hotspots and take the library’s Wi-Fi anywhere you go!
