Shapes Are All Around

Have you ever noticed that letters are made up of shapes? When children have mastered basic shapes it's easier for them to learn how to write individual letters.

The next time you're taking a walk or on a drive, point out street signs and their shapes. "There's a stop sign. It's an octagon. See the sign for the stoplight? It's a diamond with a rectangle and three circles inside of it!"

Where else can you find shapes?
