Storytime Supervisor Wins Literacy Award

The Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy, opens a new window (CLEL) awarded Melissa Depper, Storytime Supervisor, the Hero Award at their conference last week. 

The award recognizes outstanding commitment to the promotion of early literacy in Colorado and consistent support of CLEL.

Melissa is a founding member of CLEL and co-founder of the CLEL Bell Picture Book Awards, opens a new window. These awards recognize a picture book published in the current year which best exemplifies the 5 Every Child Ready to Read practices of read, write, sing, talk and play.  

Melissa is also serving her second term on the Every Child Ready to Read Oversight Committee, opens a new window for ALA. We heartily congratulate Melissa on being recognized in the industry and for her tireless early literacy efforts!
