LIBRARY IN-PERSON SERVICES

Beginning Thursday, November 12, Arapahoe Libraries is limiting in-person library services to Park and Pickup and materials returns. While walk-in library services will be temporarily unavailable, we are committed to actively serving you by continuing to offer parking lot materials delivery (Park and Pickup), phone support, online chat, tech support and more.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use Park and Pickup, which allows you to conveniently stay in your vehicle when picking up library holds:

  • Place holds at arapahoelibraries.org to be picked up at your favorite library.
  • Once your materials are ready for pickup, we will notify you and items will show as “Ready” in your library account.
  • Visit arapahoelibraries.org/holds, then select your preferred library to schedule your 30-minute timeslot for pickup. Or, call 303-LIBRARY (303-542-7279) to schedule your appointment.
  • When you arrive at the library for your scheduled appointment, please follow the directional signs to a designated Park and Pickup spot in the parking lot.
  • We look forward to bringing your library materials to you! If you need help, please connect with us using the online chat service or call us at 303-LIBRARY (303-542-7279).

We are currently accepting materials returns via our manual book drop. Larger-sized materials that do not fit into book drops, such as book club kits, may be returned during your Park and Pickup appointment or can be returned at a later date. As always, we are fine-free, so feel free to hang onto your items.

Library materials can be delivered directly to your home! We offer two convenient services, including Home Delivery and Books by Mail. FAQs

Service Update FAQs

  • We'll be sure to let you know with a notification (by email, text or phone) when your hold(s) is ready. Find out how to sign up for text alerts, or contact us for help changing your notification preference. You can also log in to your library account to check the status of your holds. Holds that are ready for pick up will display with a green "Ready" button. When you have received a notification or confirmed a hold is ready, you will need to make an appointment, opens a new window and select the library where your holds are waiting to schedule a 30-minute time slot for pickup. We look forward to seeing you soon!

  • Arapahoe Libraries are open for you to pick up holds, use library computers and browse. View library locations and hours, opens a new window. Welcome back to the library!

    The health and safety of our patrons and staff continue to be the top priority. 

    What you need to know before your visit:
    • If you are feeling sick, please stay home.
    • Masks must be worn and no food or drink will be allowed in the library.
    • Staff and patrons will adhere to social distancing guidelines.
    • You will be asked to follow the COVID-19 Patron Code of Conduct, opens a new window.
    • Once you arrive at the library, please check in at the welcome desk near the library’s entrance. 
    • Hand sanitizer will be available, as well as disposable masks for those who need one.
    • Restrooms will be available for patron use.
    • Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 
    • Meeting and study rooms will not be available.

    You can also access library resource from your home with the following resources:

  • You will need to schedule your visit with the destination directly, either online or by phone, to use an Exploration Pass for entry when you arrive. 

    Reserving an Exploration Pass does not guarantee entry to attractions that are now open. Most attractions are offering limited, scheduled entry for paid guests, members and pass holders. Please visit the website for the destination you plan to visit for more information.

  • Items may stay on your record up to 10 days after you place them in a book drop due to new handling procedures.
