This is Daisy the Wonder Cat. She's a wonder because, as you can see, she's missing a back leg. The story the shelter told me was that when she was born, she was abandoned by her mom in a window well with the umbilical cord wrapped around the leg. Someone took her to the shelter where they cared for her, and at 4 months old her leg was amputated. I've had her since she was 5 months old and she's now 16. She's my "proximity cat" - she likes to be near me at all times but never on my lap. She rarely spoke until she got older and now I wake up to the dulcet tones of her whining for breakfast. Literally it's the whiniest meow you've ever heard. I love her ever so much.
