All Board, management and staff of the Library District are expected to conduct themselves in the best interest of the public, including but not limited to:
- avoiding conflicts of interest where they might exist;
- considering public input in policy decision-making;
- responding to the public in ways that are complete, prompt, clear, and easy to understand; and,
promoting accountability in decision-making through appropriate internal controls.
When any breach of ethical conduct has been observed it should be reported to the Executive Director or Library District attorney who will investigate any allegations.
The Library District prohibits any retaliatory or other punitive actions against the person(s) who report the alleged conduct. Every effort will be made to maintain the confidentiality of any person(s) reporting such conduct, as well as the confidentiality of the person(s) accused of such conduct; however, strict confidentiality cannot be guaranteed.
