Staff Development

I. POLICY

It is the policy of the Arapahoe Library District to provide staff development opportunities for all its employees. This is based on the belief that vocational growth and enhancement is a necessary component in improving and strengthening the District's capability to fulfill its mission and goals. Staff development is the planned effort to build the job-related capabilities of each employee to prepare him/her to help meet the present and future needs of the organization.

II. PURPOSES

To develop and provide an ongoing training and education program that will enable employees to perform current jobs in accordance with the mission and policies of the Arapahoe Library District.

To provide or make available training and educational courses or programs that will enhance the skills, knowledge, and expertise of the staff as it relates to current or future job responsibilities within the Arapahoe Library District.

To anticipate, develop, and provide programs and educational opportunities to assist employees in adapting to operational changes and new developments within the District.

To develop and provide an ongoing communications program to inform employees of the staff development opportunities and the guidelines for participation.
