CASTLEWOOD LIBRARY

Castlewood Library

CASTLEWOOD LIBRARY CLOSED FOR REMODEL

Castlewood Library is closed for approximately six months, until Spring 2020, to complete a remodel of the facility. During the closure, patrons can pick up previously placed holds at Koelbel Library. Patrons can choose to place holds, pick up and return materials, attend events and storytimes, and take advantage of library services at one of our nearby locations, including Koelbel Library and Southglenn Library

The Library on Wheels will provide limited library services and will be parked at Greenwood Retail Plaza, across the street from Castlewood Library. Look for us between Jumpstreet and Regal Cinema twice a month (map).*

The remodeled Castlewood Library will feature:

ELOISE MAY

Eloise May Library

Eloise May Library is getting a makeover and will be closed Monday, November 18 through Friday, November 22. The library is scheduled to reopen on Saturday, November 23.

The new and improved library will feature:

  • More comfortable seating, including booths for small group work
  • A dedicated computer area with new furniture
  • A reservable privacy pod
  • A custom self-check station
  • An information desk
  • A roomier Friends' Used Book Store

KELVER LIBRARY

Kelver Library

NEW KELVER LIBRARY COMING IN 2020 

September of 2018, the Arapahoe Library District Board of Trustees unanimously approved a new 10,000+ square foot library in Byers to become the new Kelver Library. Planning is currently underway, with construction scheduled for 2019-2020.

Community meetings were held in November 2018 and plans are underway to develop the floorplan.

The next step in the building process is approval from the Arapahoe County Planning Commission. Kelver Library will be on the November 19, 2019 agenda.

ABOUT THE NEW KELVER LIBRARY

Feedback from the community resulted in the following wish list for the new library:

  • Indoor and outdoor community spaces to meet, study, read and rest
  • A makerspace for creative projects
  • Energy efficiency
  • A rustic building design

DAVIES LIBRARY

New Davies Library

NEW DAVIES LIBRARY NOW OPEN

The new Davies Library opened Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Update your address books to the new address, 128 2nd Ave., Deer Trail, Colorado, 80105. Davies Library has its own entrance and is located in Deer Trail’s new pre-K through 12th grade school.

ABOUT THE NEW DAVIES LIBRARY

The voters of Deer Trail approved a tax increase to accompany the successful request for a BEST grant to build a new school! In 2017, community meetings were held and contractor and architect firms were hired. Ground was broken May 2018 and construction began on school-owned property east of the old school. The new school, for preK–12 grades, incorporates state-of-the-art technology and community space.

The new, larger library features:

  • Open floor plan
  • Natural light
  • One meeting room
  • Two study rooms
  • Access to WiFi

Library hours are:

Mondays/Wednesdays: 9 am–8 pm
Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays/Saturdays: 9 am–5 pm
Closed on Sundays
