English Learning at the Library


Arapahoe Libraries partner with a local adult education organization The Learning Source, opens a new window to offer free English classes and English conversation circles to adults in our community.

English Class

English Conversation Circle

Leveled: learners are tested and placed in one of 6 levels according to their English skills. Multilevel. Learners with all levels of English skills are welcome.

Need to register to participate.

Registration takes place twice a year: January and August.

No need to register.

Just walk in.

Locations: Eloise May, Smoky Hill, Sheridan. Locations: Eloise May, Smoky Hill, online
6 hours per week + 2 hours of homework. 1.5 hours per week, no homework.

Free textbook is provided (while supplies last) to each learner who attends for at least 12 hours.

Free access to a learning platform for homework.

No textbook.

Step 1: GET AN APPOINTMENT

To sign up for classes, please RSVP for one of the registration and testing sessions, opens a new window. The RSVP link is active August 1 - 6, 2024 (while space is available).

Step 2: REGISTRATION AND TESTING

The session is 2.5 to 3 hours and includes enrollment, orientation and placement test. Please do not bring children. Classes are free. Space is limited.

Step 3: FALL 2024 CLASS SCHEDULE

Classes are from August to December 2024. Classes include practice in the following areas: listening, reading, speaking, writing, grammar and vocabulary building. Classes also include a login to Burlington English. Students are required to use Burlington English for two hours a week, outside of class time. Childcare is not available.
