Ozzy Osbourne, born John Michael Osbourne on December 3, 1948, in Birmingham, England, was a legendary British singer, songwriter, and television personality best known as the lead vocalist of the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath. Rising to fame in the early 1970s with hits like “Paranoid” and “Iron Man,” Osbourne became known for his distinctive voice, dark lyrical themes, and wild stage antics. After parting ways with Black Sabbath in 1979, he launched a successful solo career, producing acclaimed albums such as Blizzard of Ozz, Bark at the Moon and Diary of a Madman and The Ultimate Sin. Often dubbed the "Prince of Darkness," Osbourne also gained widespread popularity through the reality TV show The Osbournes, which showcased his eccentric family life. Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025. He has long been, and will forever remain, a legend and defining figure in rock and roll.
