DOCUMENTARY & DIALOGUE

Arapahoe Libraries will host a four-part Documentaries and Dialogue series in 2026. These documentary film screenings and facilitated conversations aim to allow guests an opportunity to reflect on their own experiences and learn from the experiences of others. Each conversation is guided by an expert facilitator who will invite us to reflect on the film and dig deeply into the material. The series is designed to spark connection and promote listening and understanding.

COMMUNITY FIELD TRIPS

Arapahoe County and the Denver metro area are full of diverse communities, eye-opening experiences and impressive work. Join us for a new series inspired by everyone’s favorite days in elementary school, field trips! We are bringing our community members to explore local government, election facilities and cultural institutions.

OUR AGREEMENTS

Our agreements are designed to foster understanding and connection between participants.

We ask you to agree to the following as preparation for our community conversations.

Be curious and listen to understand.

Conversation is as much about listening as it is about talking. Let’s enjoy exploring how others’ experiences have shaped their values and perspectives.

Show respect and suspend judgment.

Setting judgment aside opens us up to learning from others and makes everyone feel respected and appreciated. Let’s listen, without interruption or crosstalk.

Note any common ground as well as any differences.

Be authentic and welcome that from others.

Let’s share what is important to us, speak from our own experience, and be considerate of others who are doing the same.

Own and guide the conversation.
