Video Games Now Available for Checkout

Reserve classic games or new release titles for Nintendo Switch, Playstation and Xbox


Exciting news for all gamers! Arapahoe Libraries now offers video games for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox. You can borrow a wide variety of physical games, from classics to new releases. Video games are available for a three-week checkout period with no renewals, free of charge to anyone with a library card.

Video games are available via online holds only. To borrow games, browse the catalog, place a hold on the games you want and pick them up from your library.

This brand-new offering is a response to consistent patron feedback. Video games are an important form of storytelling and entertainment. They also help build literacy skills, opens a new window, social skills, opens a new window and other life skills, opens a new window. By checking out games from the library, you can try them before you buy or enjoy them for a few weeks and move on to the next one, saving money in the process.

Gaming consoles are not available for checkout. Teens can visit the Teen Spaces at select libraries to play video games.
