Dedicated to Building Brains!
Arapahoe Libraries recently hosted Dr. Dana Suskind at its annual early literacy speaker event. Author of Thirty Million Words: Building a Child's Brain and Parent Nation: Unlocking Every Child's Potential, Dr. Suskind shared the tremendous importance of brain building in the early years of a child's life.
Dr. Suskind created the TMW (Thirty Million Words) Center at the University of Chicago, where the latest brain science is translated into tools and strategies that help meet the developmental needs of children from birth to 5 years old. Now, with the idea of a "Parent Nation", Dr. Suskind envisions a society that supports parents and caregivers so all kids can thrive.
