It’s What I Have (Not) Always Wanted

At some point your child will be faced with having to accept a gift they don't want, whether it's a holiday present or a birthday gift.

Back in November, we talked about how to help your child discover what they're grateful for. But how do you have this conversation?

Several sources on parenting and manners suggest talking to your child before gift giving events to coach them through what you'd like them to say. It's important to remind children that the gift giver put special thought into the gift and to be careful of their feelings.
