Social Media Policy

The Arapahoe Library District (Library) provides social networking opportunities that offer an extension of library services and resources to connect users to information, education and recreation. These online tools enable library users to share information and opinions about library issues and subjects with library staff and other patrons. The Library supports the idea of creating an environment for the purpose of bringing library users together.

The Library does not collect, maintain or otherwise use the personal information stored on any third party site (i.e. Facebook, Twitter) in any way other than to communicate with users on that site, unless users of the site specifically grant permission for Library contact outside the site. Users may remove themselves at any time from the Library’s "friends" or "fan" lists, or request that the Library remove them. Users should be aware that third party websites have their own privacy policies and should proceed accordingly.

Comments, posts, and messages are welcome on Arapahoe Library District social networking sites. While the Library recognizes and respects differences in opinion, all such interactions will be regularly monitored and reviewed for content and relevancy.

The Library reserves the right to modify or remove postings that it deems, in its sole discretion, to be abusive, obscene, defamatory, in violation of the copyright, trademark right or other intellectual property right of any third party, or otherwise inappropriate.
