To increase charging access and convenience for electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid vehicle drivers, Smoky Hill Library recently installed two dual Level 2 charging stations, which is four total vehicle chargers for community use.
When Kelver Library opened its new location in the Byers community in 2021, the new library installed two Level 2 charging stations in its parking lot to serve both the local community and interstate travelers.
The stations at both libraries, which charge both electric and hybrid vehicles for a minimal fee, are accessible seven days per week. The locations are listed online and on EV charging station apps for Smoky Hill and Kelver libraries.
The installation of the charging stations increases the availability of EV charging options in the Centennial area and the Byers community. Future EV charging stations at additional Arapahoe Libraries locations are planned for later in 2023 and into 2024.
Access to EV charging stations is one of many ways that Arapahoe Libraries improves environmental impact by providing resources that promote energy savings and to anticipate increased demand for charging stations. For more information visit Environmental Sustainability at Arapahoe Libraries.
