Expanded Storytimes
Arapahoe Libraries features an expanded storytime line-up that includes several new Baby Storytimes, Toddler Storytimes and Family Storytimes at a library near you. There are now more than 40 in-person storytimes each week at Arapahoe Libraries.
If your child experiences anxiety or feels overwhelmed in a public space, try a Sensory Support Kit, now available for in-library use at select library locations.
There are always virtual storytime options too! The prerecorded Storytime At Home, opens a new window videos can be found on the ALD LIVE YouTube channel, opens a new window. Zoom opportunities include weekly Saturday morning Baby Storytime on Zoom, and on the third Thursday evening of each month join us for an all-ages family storytime Party on Zoom with a unique fun theme each month.
Learning through Play
Children learn best through play, so all Arapahoe Libraries storytimes now feature Learning through Play, which is a short time set aside after every in-person storytime for open-ended play with specially selected toys and materials that support literacy and development.
Literacy Spots
Look for scheduled Literacy Spot drop-in opportunities to play and learn with storytime specialists outside of storytime! The specialists will offer book and event recommendations and quick, fun literacy-building activities to try.
