SERVICE UPDATES

At Arapahoe Libraries, we're working hard to serve you safely. Book drops are currently open and accepting returns. Holds are available for scheduled Park and Pickup service and computers are available to use by appointment. Please read the COVID-19 Code of Conduct guidelines for what to expect when visiting the library under COVID-19 restrictions. We look forward to seeing you soon!

When you receive a message that you have a hold ready, or if you see in your account that an item is ready to be picked up, use Park and Pickup to schedule a time to pick up your materials.

Need access to a computer or printing services? You can schedule a 45-minute appointment at any library.

  • Appointments can be made for the same day or up to 7 days in advance
  • Once you arrive at the library, please wait outside the front door for a staff member to greet you and show you to your computer
  • Computers are six feet apart and disinfectant wipes will be provided
  • Computers are cleaned in between appointments
  • Masks must be worn and no food or drink will be allowed
  • Tech Specialists are available by chat or phone for questions
  • Printing is available during appointments.

BORROWING

We know times are challenging and that we're all safer at home, so we've extended the time you can keep the materials you check out.

  • Items that previously checked out for 3 weeks (books, audiobook CDs and DVDs with more than 1 disc) now check out for 5 weeks.
  • Items that previously checked out for 1 week (DVDs with 1 disc and music CDs) now check out for 2 weeks.

We are also excited to offer holds on magazines. Any magazines that were available for check out pre-closure are now available for holds and can be checked out using Park and Pickup.

RETURNS

We are accepting materials returns via our manual book drops at all library locations.

  • Items that do not fit in the manual book drop can be returned at the front doors of the library Monday-Saturday 12-4 pm.
  • Items may stay on your record for up to a week after you return them due to new handling procedures.

DONATIONS

Book donations are not currently being accepted, but we would love to have your donations in the future! Please check back to confirm donation availability.

LIBRARY AT HOME

Play, learn and create from the comfort of the Library at Home. You'll discover new eBooks, blog posts and online resources to help you learn a new skill, language or find a new passion project.

EVENTS

We are not currently offering in-person events, but join us for a virtual event, such as a storytime, computer class, book club and many more!

SPACES

Library spaces are not available for reservations at this time.

Service Update FAQs

  • We'll be sure to let you know with a notification (by email, text or phone) when your hold(s) is ready. Find out how to sign up for text alerts, or contact us for help changing your notification preference.

    You can also log in to your library account to check the status of your holds. Holds that are ready for pick up will display with a green "Ready" button.

    When you have received a notification or confirmed a hold is ready, visit arapahoelibraries.org/holds then select the library where your holds are waiting to schedule a 30-minute time slot for pickup.

  • Good news! You don't need a second appointment. When you arrive for your originally scheduled Park and Pickup, all the holds that are ready will be brought to you. 

  • When you arrive at the library to pick up your items, please follow the directional signs to a dedicated Park and Pickup spot in the parking lot.

    We'll be expecting you and will bring your holds to you. If you experience any delays in service, please call 303-LIBRARY (303-542-7972), or text the number on the sign near your parking spot.

    Drivers, please open your trunk or car door, then remain inside your vehicle and holds will be placed inside your car by staff for contactless delivery.
     
    Pedestrians and cyclists, wait inside a designated parking space. For health and safety reasons, please maintain a distance of six feet between you and other people.
     
    Your items will be checked out before they are delivered to you. 
     
    During Park and Pickup, staff cannot renew items, answer account questions or retrieve on-shelf items for you. Please contact us if you have additional questions.
     
    Staff cannot accept returns during Park and Pickup. Please use the library book drop for returns. Oversized items such as book kits will need to be returned at a later date.

  • Arapahoe Libraries is currently accepting returns and offering Park and Pickup for distributing holds as well as Computers by Appointment. There are also many online resources available to use from your home.
