Building Strong Brains Together: Bringing Vroom to Families

Arapahoe Libraries continues to be a champion for families seeking support and resources for early literacy. As a certified Family Place Library district, Arapahoe Libraries provides welcoming, developmentally supportive spaces and materials for young children and their caregivers. The library district strives to be a premier destination for early childhood, connecting families to local organizations, helpful resources and meaningful experiences that support every stage of early childhood development.

Healthy brain development and early literacy skills go together, both supporting children in building a strong foundation for lifelong learning. That’s why Arapahoe Libraries and Parent Possible want you to know about Vroom – a free resource that empowers parents and caregivers to turn everyday moments into brain-building opportunities. Let’s find out more about Vroom together!

Collaboration in Action

Since 2022, Arapahoe Libraries and Parent Possible have worked intentionally to bring Vroom to families throughout the library district. Together, they have highlighted and shared Vroom as a free brain-building resource at programs and outreach events.

Vroom has been thoughtfully integrated into library services and children’s spaces. Vroom decals featuring quick, practical tips are displayed in children’s areas, providing caregivers with easy ways to support early learning whenever the library is open. Library programs such as the Family Place Play & Learn series for toddlers, Parenting Strategies for caregivers, and Tummy Time for babies all offer hands-on learning and community connection.

Arapahoe Libraries serves a large and diverse community, from Sheridan to Deer Trail, and encompasses multiple languages and cultures. Vroom’s value shines in making early learning accessible to families who may not speak English as their first language. Its free app and website offer tips in multiple languages—including Spanish, Russian, and Arabic—so caregivers can support brain development during everyday moments.

Connecting Families and Vroom

This partnership has been especially meaningful because it allows the Vroom team to meet families face-to-face in trusted community spaces. By being present inside the library, Parent Possible can support families directly with what matters most: their children’s healthy development.

During events and programs, the Vroom team is able to:

  • Help caregivers download the Vroom app and set up their profiles
  • Show them how to create tabs for each child
  • Demonstrate how to use Vroom tips in everyday life
  • Answer questions about language options, culturally relevant content, and child development

These conversations give Parent Possible invaluable insight into what families need—whether that’s access to bilingual materials, simple activity ideas or deeper community connection.

Vroom information and simple parent-child activities can be found in Arapahoe Libraries’ children’s spaces, where families discover brain-building prompts during their regular library visits. These highlighted activities make brain development feel approachable, actionable, and part of everyday routines—just like reading a book or exploring a play space.

Being included alongside the library’s community network strengthens Parent Possible’s ability to show up for families in authentic and accessible ways.”

Family Engagement Highlights

Recent Family Place Play & Learn programs in 2025 at Smoky Hill and Koelbel Libraries have illustrated the power of this strategic collaboration. Families participated in hands-on activities that supported their children’s development and received take-home resources to keep learning going at home.

These events bring together families and early childhood professionals to prioritize brain-building, child development, and literacy support in fun, meaningful ways.
