Take a stroll back through time without ever leaving town at Littleton Museum, opens a new window!
This free museum is just around the corner and has plenty to keep little hands busy. Inside, you'll find displays dedicated to Littleton history. There's a play kitchen and a story corner filled with great books to read. Children will even have fun rearranging the newspaper articles (keep an eye out for one about a librarian!).
The outside, though, is even better, especially if your child likes to sing "Old MacDonald Had a Farm." There are farms from two different eras, a 1860s farm, opens a new window and a 1890s farm, opens a new window. Your child will delight in pointing out pigs, sheep, cows and donkeys, and will giggle at the outhouse. They even have oxen and turkeys, plus a cranky ram with extra large horns. Each farm has knowledgeable staff to talk about what life was like in each time period, and if you're lucky, you can catch the blacksmith at work, opens a new window.
If you're heading out there, be sure to bring a water bottle, sunscreen and your time traveling boots (boots optional).
Please check the museum's website for updates on hours of operation.
