Happy Friday! Today's track of the day is "Magnolia Mountain" by Ryan Adams and the Cardinals. This alt-country gem is from the album Cold Roses (2005). Adams' strained, lovelorn lyrics guide this two-part album that is undoubtedly haunting and poetic - from the first verse to the very last.
I would recommend Ryan Adams (his solo work as well as his work with The Cardinals) to fans of Neil Young, Jason Isbell, Wilco, Ray LaMontagne, The Strokes, Damien Rice, Dawes, Josh Ritter, Justin Townes Earle—among many other versatile singer-songwriters.
