Mes de la Herencia Hispana 2026: Historias, Arte y Cultura que nos Conectan
Cada historia, cada tradición y cada expresión artística nos ofrece una manera diferente de conocer quiénes somos y de descubrir las experiencias de quienes forman parte de nuestra comunidad.
Del 15 de septiembre al 15 de octubre, las Bibliotecas Arapahoe celebran el Mes de la Herencia Hispana con una programación especial que nos invita a encontrarnos, aprender y celebrar juntos. Este año podrás acercarte a la diversidad de las culturas hispanas y latinoamericanas a través del cine, la literatura, la historia, el teatro, el arte y las conversaciones comunitarias.
Vive la celebración en la biblioteca
Este año hemos preparado experiencias para diferentes edades e intereses. Podrás disfrutar de nuestro 2.º Festival de Cine Latino, conocer las historias detrás de Los Nadien en un encuentro con el autor Edgar Muñoz y descubrir la historia de los hispanos en el suroeste de Estados Unidos con The Story of Hispanics in the American Southwest.
El arte y las tradiciones también serán protagonistas. Recorre distintos países y culturas con Descubriendo Latinoamérica, conoce la historia de las coloridas Máscaras de Vejigante de Puerto Rico y crea la tuya; participa en Arte para Sentir y Crear, una experiencia bilingüe donde el arte se convierte en una oportunidad para imaginar, compartir y conectar; y disfruta del teatro con el monólogo La vida inútil de Pito Pérez.
También tendremos un encuentro con la autora local Silvia Kolin, El Poder de Reinventarse, que abrirá un espacio para conversar y reflexionar sobre temas relevantes para nuestra comunidad.

Hispanic Heritage Month 2026: Stories, Art and Culture That Connect Us
Every story, tradition and artistic expression offers a different way to understand who we are and discover the experiences of those who are part of our community.
From September 15 through October 15, Arapahoe Libraries celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with special events that invite us to come together, learn and celebrate. This year, explore the diversity of Hispanic and Latin American cultures through film, literature, history, theater, art and community conversations.
Experience the Celebration at the Library
This year, we have planned experiences for a variety of ages and interests. Enjoy our 2nd Latin Film Festival, discover the stories behind Los Nadien during Meet the Author: Edgar Muñoz, and learn about the history of Hispanics in the southwestern United States with The Story of Hispanics in the American Southwest.
Art and traditions will also take center stage. Travel through different countries and cultures with Discovering Latin America, learn about Puerto Rico's colorful Vejigante Masks and create your own; participate in Art to Create and Connect, a bilingual experience where art becomes an opportunity to imagine, share and connect; and experience theater through the monologue La vida inútil de Pito Pérez.
We'll also host a conversation with local author Silvia Kolin, El Poder de Reinventarse, that will create space for dialogue and reflection on topics relevant to our community.
