It's spring and a great time to add some new words and experiences to your child's repertoire!
Talk to your child about winter changing to spring. Add new vocabulary words to your conversation, such as bud, thaw, sprout, melt and bloom and explain what they mean.
Children who know more words have an easier time learning to read. And because they know more about how the natural world works, they'll be able to sound out and decode what they read.
