Rage Against the Machine is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1991, known for their explosive fusion of rap, metal, punk and funk with revolutionary political activism. The band consists of Zack de la Rocha (vocals), Tom Morello (guitar), Tim Commerford (bass) and Brad Wilk (drums). With confrontational lyrics targeting corporate greed, systemic injustice and government oppression, their self-titled 1992 debut album became a landmark in alternative music, featuring the iconic track "Killing in the Name." Their intense live performances and bold political stances made them a voice for resistance throughout the 1990s and beyond. Though disbanding and reuniting multiple times, Rage Against the Machine remains a powerful symbol of protest in music history.
