Who doesn't want to give their child a leg up when it comes to reading?
It's easier for children to sound out a word and know what it means when they already have the word in their vocabulary bank.
A great way to learn new words and sound them out at the same time is through song. Singing slows down language, allowing children to hear each syllable and giving them a better sense of how words are constructed.
What's your child's favorite song? Think about the words in the song next time you sing it. Can you use these words in other ways when you talk to your child?
