Experience the art and history of Dia de los Muertos


Visit this exciting traveling exhibit rich with history and culture on display at Sheridan Library from October 2-November 5.

Explore the exhibit and celebrate Dia de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead with us. Dia de los Muertos, opens a new window is a day of remembering loved ones who have passed away and reminds us that life is precious. This holiday is known for parades, festivities and artwork featuring skeletons.

One of the most famous symbols of Dia de los Muertos is La Calavera Catrina.  This unique and iconic art was created by political activist and artist Jose Guadalupe Posada. 

Want to learn more about Posada's art and political activism? Tweens and teens can reserve a spot in the hands-on print-making program on October 25.

This special exhibit is in partnership with Museo de las Americas.
