Show your child the recipe and point to it as you're working. You'll be showing them that print has meaning.
When you're finished, break out the cookie cutters and rolling pins and let them make their own "cookies."
Betsy's No-Cook Play Dough Recipe:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Optional: Scents (peppermint, lemon extract, cinnamon, or other scents), food coloring
Betsy's Note: This concoction is edible, though it doesn't taste very good.
