How to Spot Fake AI-Generated Products

With the rise of AI image generators, more and more product listings are using computer-created images, and some of them are completely fake. Here's how to spot the difference and avoid getting scammed.

Common Signs of a Fake

Look Closely at the Image

  • Is the logo misspelled or unreadable?
  • Are the shadows weird or inconsistent?
  • Does the item look too shiny, smooth, or perfectly lit?

These are common clues that the product image may have been created with AI. Some AI tools also struggle with hands, zippers, and pockets, so look for signs that don’t quite add up.

Check the Reviews and Description

If there are no reviews, or if the reviews are vague and repetitive (“Great product, will buy again!”), that’s a red flag. Also be cautious of product descriptions that sound too generic or overly enthusiastic.
