Get reading, talking and asking with this easy comprehension activity.
The next time you're reading to your child, ask these simple questions to develop their comprehension:
- What do you think is going to happen?
- We've never heard this word before. What do you think it means?
- What was your favorite part of the book?
- Tell me the story in your words.
Read the same book again and again. The repetition will increase your child's ability to tell stories and to predict what can happen. Hearing the same vocabulary words will cement them into their mind.
