When seasons change, it's the perfect opportunity to take a nature walk around your neighborhood or park with children of any age.
As you stroll, talk about what the new season will bring. What's already changing? How will the animals react? What will the weather be? Talk about what holidays or events will happen during the season, what types of food you'll eat, what trees and plants will grow or do and how you'll dress differently for the season.
For fall, point out changing leaves, the colder weather and how animals are preparing for winter. Collect leaves, acorns, sticks and rocks as you go and talk about them when you get home.
Are there any autumn traditions you and your family look forward to? Let us know in the comments!
