Alesis Nitro Ultimate eDrum Kit – Cheat Sheet


The Alesis Nitro Ultimate Electronic Drum Kit is a 9-piece electronic drum kit designed to give drummers a more expressive, acoustic-like playing experience with dual-zone mesh pads and cymbals, a stand-mounted hi-hat controller and a rugged steel rack. The Nitro Ultimate module includes 52 built-in kits and over 640 sounds covering acoustic, electronic and percussion voices, plus Bluetooth audio streaming and USB-MIDI for practice, play-along learning and recording, making it suitable for beginners through intermediate players.


Let's get started

Power and Volume

  • Power ON/OFF: Power button (hold briefly)
  • Master Volume: Big volume knob (start low!)
  • Headphone Volume: Same knob controls phones & main out

Kit Selection

  • KIT → Enter kit selection
  • ▲ / ▼ → Scroll through drum kits
  • KIT + ▲ / ▼ (hold) → Fast scroll
  • User Kits: Last 16 slots (save custom kits here)

Change Drum Sounds (Per Pad)

  1. Press VOICE
  2. Hit the pad you want to change
  3. Use ▲ / ▼ to choose a new sound
  4. Press KIT to exit

NOTE: This works for any pad or cymbal

Adjust Pad Sensitivity / Feel

  1. Press UTILITY
  2. Hit the pad you want to adjust
  3. Use ◄ / ► to choose:
    • Sensitivity
    • Threshold
    • Curve (how hard/soft hits respond)
  4. ▲ / ▼ to change value

Practice & Learning Modes

Select a Mode

Press MODE to cycle through

  • Beat – timing exercises
  • Rhythm – coordination practice
  • Pattern – play-along grooves
  • Song – full backing tracks

Controls

  • PLAY/STOP – start or stop exercise
  • ▲ / ▼ – change pattern/song

Metronome

  • CLICK – Toggle metronome on/off
  • CLICK + ▲ / ▼ – Change tempo
  • CLICK + ◄ / ► – Change time signature

Playing Along with Music

Using Bluetooth

  • Hold Bluetooth button
  • Pair from phone/tablet

Using Aux In

  • Plug device into AUX input
  • Adjust music volume on your device

Save a Custom Kit

  1. Create your kit (voices + settings)
  2. Hold SAVE
  3. Choose a User Kit slot (▲ / ▼)
  4. Press SAVE again to confirm

Note: If you don’t save, changes are lost when switching kits

Computer / Recording

  • USB-MIDI:
    • Plug USB into computer
  • Works with DAWs & drum software
    • No drivers needed for most systems

Quick Fixes

  • Pad not responding?
    • Check cable label matches pad
    • Raise sensitivity in Utility
  • Hi-hat feels wrong?
    • Make sure pad cable ≠ pedal cable
    • Adjust hi-hat control sensitivity
  • Double triggering?
    • Raise threshold slightly
