All unemployment applicants and recipients are now being asked to use the ID.me app to prove their identity. Once you apply for unemployment, you should receive an email from the unemployment office directing you to create an account through ID.me. You will need to start on the unemployment website or through the link in your unemployment email.

Part of this process requires submitting a selfie on your personal smart phone. If you don’t have access to a smart phone or one of the required documents, you can call 303-536-5615 to talk to an unemployment benefits representative about setting an appointment with a ID.me representative, also called a trusted referee.
